Fun & Fitness for the whole Family!-Kayaking anyone?

Moms know that there are few things that hold the attention of the entire family. When Marie Humphrey started the Family Kayak Adventure Center in 2002 she wanted to offer something that a family could do together in all age groups. Each kayak seats two.Family Kayak Adventure Center welcomes children from 2 years old to 9 years old with an adult. Children 10 years and older can partner with each other. Family Kayak Adventure tours are in lakes and bays throughout San Diego County including: Coronado Island, Point Loma, Mission Bay, South San Diego Bay, Lake Murray, Otay Lake, Lake Hodges, El Capitan Reservoir, and Miramar Lake. They meet you there, provide on-land instruction and bring all the equipment for a great time and an amazing workout. The tours also talk about the history, animal and plant life and help children learn to love and appreciate nature at a young age.

“It is a great low impact workout for your entire upper body and your core.” says owner and lead kayaker, Marie Humphrey. It is a great cross training activity for runners and cyclist. Kayaking allows you to give your strong overworked legs a rest, enjoy the beautiful nature in San Diego while still getting your heart pumping! Beginners are welcome so no excuses! No one will be left behind as the slowest boat sets the pace for the group.

Family Kayak Adventure Center works with many San Diego local organizations including the San Diego Natural History Museum, the Boy & Girl Scouts, the Magdalena Ecke YMCA and many others.
